Sandy advises nonprofits, government and private sector clients in research, policy/political analysis, strategy, and fund development. Her experience includes leading policy/advocacy campaigns resulting in $74 million in public funds for early education in Los Angeles. She also raised more than $2 million dollars benefiting families and children working to advance educational opportunities in underserved communities. As a volunteer, she served as a mentor for first generation high school students in Montebello Unified School District through the College Bound Today Program.
Her early career started in public education as a bilingual pre-kindergarten teacher in the South Bronx, NY and later as a data analyst in the School District of Philadelphia. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, earning her Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Finance. She also holds a Master of Science in Teaching and Curriculum from Fordham University, a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of California Santa Barbara, and is an alumna of Teach for America. Ms. Escobedo is the first in her family to graduate from college and graduate school. She is a proud product of LAUSD schools and is fluent in Spanish and French. In her spare time, she enjoys having a good laugh with friends and family.
